Are you ready for the 2015 D23 Expo? It will be here before you know it and information is beginning to trickle out about events, presentations, speakers, and (hopefully) announcements. Attendees of the 2015 D23 Expo will have the opportunity to see behind-the-scenes presentations from the Walt Disney Studios, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. Below you’ll find some of the line up which as already been announced.

The three-day, mega Disney event will take place August 14 – 16th at the Anaheim Convention Center located across the street from the Disneyland Resort. The event requires admission for each day and tickets for Saturday are already sold out, so if you are planing to attend you should purchase your tickets soon!

Each day will be filled with special presentations, events and exhibits. The D23 Expo will open for general admission each day at 10:00 a.m. (one hour earlier at 9:00 a.m. for D23 Gold and Silver Members) and close at 7:00 p.m.

Friday, August 14:

Disney Legends Awards Ceremony, hosted by Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger.

10 am – Hall D23

The Walt Disney Company will celebrate some of those who have helped to create the magic with their contributions to Disney. Those who will be in attendance to be honored in 2015 include George Lucas, animator Andres Deja, Disneyland’s first ambassador Julie Reihm Casaletto, artists Eyvind Earle and Carson Van Osten, composer Danny Elfman, and more!

The Magic Behind the Muppets

10 am – Stage 23

Join the artists that bring the Muppets to life along with some of your favorite characters and surprise guests.

Welcome to Zootopia!

1:30 pm – Stage 28

A behind-the-scenes look at the upcoming Disney Animation Studio’s upcoming release, Zootopia. Attendees will hear from directors Byron Howard and Rich More, producer Clark Spencer, and artists from the production team.

Every Story is a Journey: The Upcoming Films of Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios.

3:00 p.m. – Hall D23.

John Lasseter, Chief Creative Officer of Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios will be your host as he presents “Every Story is a Journey”. The presentation will include special announcements, musical performances, and appearances by celebrity voice talent (names yet to be announced). Attendees will witness the unveiling of never-before-seen footage from Pixar’s upcoming release of The Good Dinosaur and Finding Dory, as well as Disney Animation Studio’s upcoming Zootopia and Moana. (Note: all cell phones, camera and recording devices will be checked for this presentation).

Exploring the Past, Present, and Future of Storytelling with Ridley Pearson and Marty Sklar

3:00 p.m. – Stage 28

New York Times bestselling author Ridley Pearson and Disney Imagineering Legend Marty Sklar take the stage to discuss their careers and roles as storytellers, and how their worlds came together with the creation of Pearson’s Kingdom Keepers series. The presentation will be followed by an autograph session with Ridley Pearson in the D23 Expo Dream Store, located on the Expo Show Floor, from 4:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Safari So Good: 60 Years of the World Famous Jungle Cruise

3:15 p.m. – 4:15 p.m.  –  Stage 23

A look back at the past 60 years of the World Famous Jungle Cruise, featuring skippers reflecting on their past experiences.

Disneyland Home Movies

4:30 pm – 5:30 pm   –   Stage 28

A collection of vintage Disneyland film and photography.

Imagineering 60 Years of Disneyland

5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.  –  Stage 23

A discussion panel about Disneyland featuring Disney Legends and Imagineers who are tasked with carrying on the legacy of Walt in the Disney Parks. Those in attendance will also have the opportunity to view a new trailer from Leslie Iwerks’ new documentary about Walt Disney Imagineering.

A Goofy Movie 20th Anniversary Reunion

6:00 pm – 7:00 pm   –   Stage 28

A look back at the creation of A Goofy Movie 20 years later.

Saturday, August 15:

Walt Disney Studios Presentation: Worlds, Galaxies, and Universes

10:30 a.m. – Hall 23

An inside look at upcoming live-action projects from Disney, Marvel, and Lucasfilm. Expect information to be presented on Alice Through the Looking Glass, The Jungle Book, Captain America: Civil War, Star Wars: The Force Awakens and more.

One Little Spark – Mickey’s Ten Commandments and the Road to Imagineering with Marty Sklar

10 a.m. – Stage 28

Legendary Disney Imagineer, and author of DREAM IT! DO IT! will join five fellow Imagineers, Eli Erlandson, Shelby Jiggetts-Tivoni, Daniel, Josheph, Dexter Tanksley, and Kevin Rafferty, in a conversation about what inspired them to go into the arts. They will provide advise for young creative talent who aspire to follow in their footsteps and hope to take that “Road to Imagineering” someday. The presentation will be followed by an autograph session with Marty Sklar at D23 Autograph Central from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Walt Disney Parks and Resorts presentation, hosted by Chairman Bob Chapek

3:00 p.m. – Hall 23

An inside look at what is coming to Disney parks around the world. Although Disney has been hush hush on what we will see in this presentation, we expect information to be unveiled about Disney Hollywood Studios, Shanghai Disneyland, the Avatar project at Animal Kingdom, and a second, one-billion-dollar investment into the Disneyland Resort.

Toy Story: 20 Years Later, The Original Crew Looks Back

4:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.  –  Stage 23

Joh Lasseter, Pete Docter, and Andrew Stanton take to the stage to share their stories on the making of the ground breaking Disney / Pixar classic, Toy Story.

The Making of American Experience: Walt Disney

4:30 pm – 5:30 pm  –  Stage 28

A behind-the-scenes look at the upcoming PBS documentary on the life of Walt Disney.

Aladdin – The Making of a Classic

6:00 pm – 7:00 pm   –   Stage 28

Learn the stories behind the making of one of Disney’s most beloved animation films, Aladdin. The presentation will be hosted by the film’s directors, John Musker and Ron Clements, animators Eric Goldberg (Genie) and Mark Henn (Jasmine), as well the voice of Jasmine, Linda Larkin, the actors who gave life to Aladdin: Scott Weinger and Brad Kane.

Sunday, August 16:

Disney in Concert: A Silly Symphony Celebration

11 am – 12 pm and 2 pm – 3 pm   –  Stage 23

A full 32 piece orchestra preforms the music from the Silly Symphony animated shorts.

An Animator’s Gallery: Presented by Dave A. Bossert and Eric Goldberg

1:30 pm – Stage 28

Disney Supervising Animator Dave Bossert and Director Eric Goldberg discuss the book, An Animator’s Gallery, which features Walt Disney characters in the caricature style of Sardi’s and The Brown Derby. Goldberg will discuss what inspired him to create these portraits, starting with Oswald the Lucky Rabbit and Mickey Mouse. The presentation will be followed by an autograph session with Dave Bossert and Eric Goldberg at D23 Autograph Central from 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

The Shorts of Walt Disney Animation Studios: from Paperman to Prep & LandingFeast to Frozen Fever

Filmmakers (names not yet announced) will discuss the creation behind some of Disney’s most beloved animation shorts including Get a Horse!, John Henry, Lorenzo and The Ballad of Nessie.

Frozen FANdemonium: A Musical Celebration!

3:00 pm – Hall D23

Hear and celebrate the stories behind the music of one of Disney’s most successful animated films, Frozen. Hosted by Christ Montain, president of Walt Disney Music. Also joining in, Oscar winning songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez.

The Tunes Behind the Toons: Screening/Q&A

6:00 pm – Stage 28

Attend a special screening, and question and answer segment hosted by producer / director Dave Bossert, for the short form documentary, The Tunes Behind the Toons. This documentary explores the history of music in animation, from the beginning of the silent movie days to today’s highly acclaimed features. The Tunes Behind the Toons features interviews with such musical greats as Alan Menken, Randy Newman, Patrick Doyle, Mark Watters, Bruce Broughton, Richard Sherman and others.

Each presentation taking place in “Hall D23”, will be located in Hall D of the Anaheim Convention Center. For the 2015 D23 Expo, “Hall D23” will have a capacity of 7,500 guests, which is great considering these large presentations typically fill up hours prior to start times.

This show floor exhibition will feature live demonstrations, presentations and autograph sessions with top filmmakers from each studio, plus free giveaways and interactive displays from such films as Inside Out, The Good Dinosaur, Zootopia, Finding Dory, and Moana.

An Animator’s Gallery: Eric Goldberg

View an exclusive exhibition of “An Animator’s Gallery: Eric Goldberg”, a celebration of the Eric’s groundbreaking work on Aladdin, Moana and the Mickey Mouse short Get a Horse!. This exhibition includes a collection of more than 100 caricatured Goldberg creations of Disney characters, which will also be available for purchase in the Walt Disney Publishing shop also located on the D23 Expo show floor.
