One of the highlights on day one of the 2015 D23 Expo was the Disney Legends Ceremony. The ceremony continues the 28-year tradition of the Walt Disney Company honoring those who have contributed to it’s success. Previous inductees include Imagineer Tony Baxter, Composer Richard Sherman, and former Apple CEO Steve Jobs.

Walt Disney Company chairman and CEO Bob Iger hosted the ceremony in which he presented awards to such Disney icons as Andreas Deja, Eyvind Earle, Julie Reihm Casaletto, Danny Elfman, George Lucas, and a surprise guest, Johnny Depp.

But it wasn’t all honorees; various performers also entertained guests. Richard Sherman and Ashley Brown performed “A Kiss Goodnight”, the new song written by Richard for the latest Disneyland Firework Spectacular, Disneyland Forever.

And the Tony Award winner, James Monroe Inglehart who performed a great rendition of Oogie Boogie’s song.
