Knott’s Berry Farm has closed the RipTide attraction. RipTide flipped guests upside down and twirled them through the air end over end. The attraction opened in the Boardwalk area of Knott’s Berry Farm in 2004 after replacing a similar type attraction called Hammerhead.
The attraction spend most of 2015 closed and rumors have abound that the cost of maintaining the ride ultimately lead to it’s removal.
In recent years, Knott’s Berry Farm has been leading a charge to revamp and refresh the theme park. Major refurbishments of the classic Calico Mine Train and Log Ride attractions were completed, Camp Snoopy was refreshed and new attractions were opened, and a new interactive attraction Voyage to the Iron Reef was added. In 2016 Knott’s Berry Farm will be celebrating the 75th anniversary of Ghost Town with new entertainment, venues and interactive elements.
