Disneyland’s 60th anniversary, the Diamond anniversary, will kick-off in the Spring of 2015.

“It’s an incredible time at the Disneyland Resort as we prepare for next year’s Diamond Celebration,” said Michael Colglazier, president, Disneyland Resort. “We’re excited to honor our rich history, to celebrate the incredible magic that fills our resort today, and to create unforgettable memories with our guests for many years to come.”

Disneyland celebrated the 59th Anniversary this morning with a special ceremony in Town Square.

To help build anticipation for the Disneyland 60th Diamond Anniversary, Disneyland is asking guests to share photos from the past six decades via social media.

Each week, now through August 27, 2014, Disney will be asking fans to share a photo from a specific decade. (Photos from any decade are also welcome)  To enter, post your photo to Twitter or Instagram and use the hashtag, #Disneyland60Contest. For the first week Disney is asking fans to share photos from the 1950’s. The top five photos will be posted on the official Parks Blog and readers will vote for their favorite. From those winners, fans will have the opportunity to vote for the grand prize winner. The grand prize winner will be invited to help kick-off the Diamond Anniversary at Disneyland.

Each finalist will receive a 60th anniversary merchandise pack. The grand prize winner will receive a four day, three night vacation for four to the Disneyland Resort. The vacation includes airfare, travel, hotel stay at one of the Disneyland Resort hotels, and four 3-day 1-park per day tickets. The grand prize winner will be notified on or around October 30, 2014.
