The characters from Disney’s Frozen are coming to Disney California Adventure this winter. “Frozen Fun” will feature several experiences including, a sing-a-long, an indoor snow play area, a meet and greet, and a night-time dance party.
“Frozen Fun”, which will take over much of former backlot area of Hollywood Land, will feature four experiences and an outdoor shop.
- “For the First Time in Forever – A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration” – Held inside the Muppet Vision 3D theater. The theater has been “transformed into the beautiful Crown Jewel Theatre from Arendelle”. Guests will be invited to a sing along which will feature special appearances by Anna, Elsa and Kristoff.
- “Olaf’s Snow Fest” – Held inside the Stage 17 Building. The area has been made into a “winter wonderland straight out of the Kingdom of Arendelle”. Guests can play in a snow play area, build a snowman, see musical performances by The Frolicking Fjords and The Tubadors, and visit with Olaf.
- “Anna and Elsa’s Royal Welcome” – Replaces the Toy Story Zoetrope inside the Disney Animation Building. Anna and Elsa, the sisters from Frozen, will be moving from their current location in Fantasyland into this new permanent location. The projections inside the Animation Courtyard will also be updated to include scenes and music from the film.
- “Freeze the Night! A Family Dance Party” – Temporarily replacing the Mad T Party. An outdoor event featuring “music, dancing and interactive fun in a new, family-friendly experience”. The official description of the atmosphere: You’ll arrive at the party through an icy archway to find wintry décor, dazzling lighting effects, cool photo spots, yummy treats and frosty beverages for all ages. Throughout the night, a giant thermometer registers the drop in temperature, as things get so cool they ultimately reach the freezing point when everyone lets it go in a spectacular “Frozen Fun” crescendo!
“Frozen Fun” officially launches January 7 and runs through May 15, 2015, although Disney has already said that a sneak peek of some of these experiences begins on December 20, 2014.
Disney also announced a new Frozen stage show will be added to the Royal Theater in Fantasy Faire. It was later confirmed that the addition is for a limited time and the Beauty and the Beast and Tangled shows would return at a “later date”. Also in the announcement, a new Frozen addition will be made to the Storybook Land Canal Boats, replacing the classic 1956 Old Mill scene.
