Disney and D23 is expanding the popular Anaheim bi-annual, everything Disney, D23 Expo by brining it to Japan!
D23 will hold the first-ever Japan D23 Expo in October 2013, only two months after Anaheim’s D23 Expo. The D23 Expo in Japan will be held at the Tokyo Disney Resort, October 12 – 14, 2013 at the Disney Ambassador, Mira Costa and Maihama hotels as well as the IKSPIARI Tokyo Amphitheater.
Japan’s D23 Expo will feature presentations – hosted by Disney creative executives – showcasing future projects from across The Walt Disney Company. These presentations will be similar to those Disney fans have come to expect from the Anaheim D23 Expo and will include information and projects from the theme parks, movies, television, music and interactive gaming.
The D23 Expo in Japan will celebrate the Walt Disney Company’s 90th Anniversary. D23 will also present the wonderful Walt Disney Archives exhibit, Treasures of the Walt Disney Archives, which is currently on display at the Reagan Library in Simi Valley, California, and will be on display at the 2013 Anaheim D23 Expo as well. The D23 Expo in Japan will also celebrate Tokyo Disney Resort’s 30th anniversary with special exhibits presented by the Oriental Land Company, the operator of Tokyo Disney Resort.
“We are thrilled to host this extraordinary, three-day event where all the wonderful worlds of Disney come together,” said Paul Candland, president, The Walt Disney Company Japan. “2013 marks The Walt Disney Company’s 90th anniversary, Disney Channel’s 10th, Disney Mobile’s fifth, the Disney–JCB Card’s fifth, Dlife’s first, and Tokyo Disney Resort’s 30th! The D23 Expo Japan allows us to show Disney’s tremendous appreciation to its fans.”
Ticket pricing and information will be announced in March 2013.
