Welcome Back to the Disneyland Resort
We are in full Holiday mode at the Disneyland Resort. Snow is falling nightly, bells are ringing on Buena Vista Street and Candy Canes are being made. It’s a great time of year.
This week we’ll take a look at the candy canes, and some of the Holiday entertainment throughout Disneyland. A retail space in Cars Land has been expanded, a Holiday Village shopping area has sprung up in Downtown Disney and we will check up on some of the construction around the parks.
But first here is a word from Touring Plans on this week’s crowd conditions.
Crowds drop like a rock on Monday, and weekdays this week will be light. If you need tips for visiting during the holidays, check out our Disney Holiday eBooks!TouringPlans.com can also help you navigate the crowds with our per-park Crowd Calendar, Lines App with access to current and estimated wait times, and Touring Plans detailing the best plan of attack for hitting the attractions. Now is a good time to subscribe to TouringPlans.com to plan your strategy to avoid the crowds!

- Monday is the best day to do Disney California Adventure.
- Partial Blackouts Saturday and Sunday.
- Crowd levels are a 9 and 8 on Saturday and Sunday.
- Due to its incredibly low capacity, consider riding Luigi’s Flying Tires standby right after starting your day by grabbing a FASTPASS for Radiator Springs Racers.

Do more. Wait less.
Candy Canes Return for the Holiday Season
The popular handmade candy canes returned to Disneyland park this past week, and for the first time are now made and sold at Disney California Adventure on Buena Vista Street!
Over on Buena Vista Street, the Candy Canes are made at Trolley Treats.
The Candy Canes are not made every day, here you can find the entire 2012 Disneyland Candy Cane schedule.
The new Holiday edition of the Buena Vista Bugle is out.
Ramone’s House of Body Art Expansion
The garage, which was initially intended to be the FASTPASS location for Radiator Springs Racers, has been transformed into a retail space. The ‘Lube-O-Rama’ is an addition to Ramone’s House of Body Art and carries mostly Cars Land apparel and gifts.
The Radiator Springs FASTPASS neon sign was removed and changed to say Lube-O-Rama, Parts ‘n’ Stuff.
The interior of the shop retains much of it’s initial garage theme.
A door at the rear of Ramone’s leads to Lube-O-Rama.
Bill Hill and the Holiday Hillbillies
Billy Hill and the Hillbillies are preforming their daily holiday show at the Jingle Jangle Jamboree in Frontierland.
The Country Bears joins in at the end of the show.
‘A Christmas Fantasy Parade’ is now showing daily at Disneyland.
Fantasy Faire Construction
Construction continues on the Princess Fantasy Faire. Some of the building facades are now visible.
The walls have come down around the restrooms across from ‘it’s a small world’ revealing a new handicap access ramp.
Not much progress is visible on the transformation of former Fantasy Faire back into the Fantasyland Theater.
Holiday Village in Downtown Disney
A “Holiday Village” has been set up in the west end of Downtown Disney, near the ice skating rink. The village is a small collection of kiosk vendors selling crafts, clothing and candy.
The decor is quite low budget and appears to have been thrown together quickly.
An empty ‘NEWS’ stand?
The Disneyland Hotel greets guests with a pair of tinsel trees.
You can meet with Santa Claus at different times throughout the day at all three of the Disney hotels.
Below is the Disneyland Hotel location.
And in the Grand Californian Hotel lobby.
That’s going to do it for this week’s update. You can see the past updates here.
