Here are some quick-hit notes that we hope you’ll find helpful as you prepare your visits for the week:
- Expect crowds to pick up a bit this week now that it’s Halloween season.
- Partial blockouts on Saturday and Sunday.
- Disneyland (park) is a 1.1 on Thursday.
- Due to its incredibly low capacity, consider riding Luigi’s Flying Tires standby right after starting your day by grabbing a FASTPASS for Radiator Springs Racers.
It’s Halloween Time!
It’s officially Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort.
Disneyland park is covered in yellow and orange and the sight of autumn is everywhere, although this past weekend you would have never known it by the weather. An abnormally high “heat wave” had a grip on the Southern California area, scorching park guests with temperatures as high at 108 on Friday and 104 on Saturday! Sunday saw a bit of break with a high of 86. Still, the spirit of Halloween can be seen all over the park.
The Mickey and Friends tram billboards greet guests.
The traditional character jack-o-lanterns are above the turnstiles.

The ‘Partners’ pedestal got a retouch. It is much darker now and appears to now have texture.
Here is a photo from last year (2011), you can see just how lightly colored the base was before this past week.
