Earlier today the Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop opened at Disney California Adventure.

Ghirardelli’s official opening date is June 7, 2012 and it is currently under a “soft open” which means the shop is not guaranteed to remain open until then.

The level of detail and service is exciting to see at Disney California Adventure, and it shows Disney’s commitment to improving all areas of the park, and not just with the additions of Cars Land and Buena Vista Street.

Here is a quick photo and video tour of the new Ghirardelli Shop

The murals behind the main counter are lit and have moving elements to them. Here the trolley car moves up and down and the buildings occasionally shake, as if San Francisco is having yet another earthquake.
