For the first time in nearly a decade, Disneyland has begun accepting new members into Club 33. The exclusive club, located above most of the shops in New Orleans Square, was envisioned by Walt Disney himself in the 1960’s. Disney is adding perks to the memberships, including access to a private lounge built inside the Carthay Circle Theatre on Disney California Adventure’s Buena Vista Street. 1901, a reference to Walt Disney’s year of birth, will continue the 1930’s theme of the surrounding area and is described as a “warm, intimate space with eclectic light fixtures, overstuffed leather chairs, and beautiful, rich touches”, Disney said in a blog post. The lounge will feature personal artwork and photographs from the early years of the Walt Disney Studios, some of which will feature Walt Disney’s actual signature.
In celebration of Club 33’s 45 Anniversary and the soon-to-open ‘1901’ lounge in Buena Vista Street, Disney has begun to offer membership opportunities to those who are already on the waiting list. Disney will not say how many members Club 33 currently has, nor will they say how many they will offer membership to, however Disney did confirm some of the added benefits of membership. They include access to Club 33 and ‘1901’, access to exclusive sneak peeks, the use of VIP tour guides, valet parking, complimentary hotel upgrades, annual passes to all domestic Disney parks, and 50 single-day tickets for members to distribute as they wish.
If you would like to add yourself to the list, you can do so by sending an email to email@example.com.
Membership comes at a substantial price tag at $25,000 for initiation and annual dues of $10,000.
Buena Vista Street will open at Disney California Adventure park on June 15, 2012.
