News that Disney was going to do a Valentine’s version of Walt Disney World’s “The Magic, The Memories and You” leaked out online a few weeks ago, and speculation surrounding whether or not Disneyland’s version would get the same treatment has been circulating as well. Rumors no more. Disney made the announcement earlier this week that both parks would indeed get a Valentine’s version of the projection show.
“The Magic, The Memories and You” projection show started last year as part of the now replaced, “Let the Memories Begin” promotion in which projections turns the exterior of Cinderella’s Castle in Walt Disney World and “it’s a small world” at Disneyland into amazing pieces of art containing photos of guests enjoying their day at each of the parks.

UPDATE Feb 3, 2012: Below is a video of the new show.  Make sure you switch to HD!

The newest version of the show, inspired by romantic moments within Disney animation, will debut on February 1, 2012. At Disneyland, the facade of “it’s a small world” will be “covered in red roses for one sequence and turned into a beautiful, star-filled sky for another“. And of course, the shows will still contain photos of guests captured by the Disney PhotoPass cast members from each day.

A variation of the lantern scene from the movie “Tangled” will also be part of the show. The king and queen will appear on a balcony and release a single lantern; soon joined by hundreds more.

The Valentine’s version of “The Magic, The Memories and You” will begin on February 1st and run through “mid-April”, however, Disney has already released some teaser art for a summer version of the show where “it’s a small world” is transformed into a giant sand castle as Goofy rides a wave across the facade.
