Based on Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland, “Mad T Party” will be replacing ElecTRONica this summer.

“This psychedelic soiree will be filled with surprises and new takes on some familiar characters from the world of Tim Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland.” Join us for a party like no other as you fall into the rabbit hole and land in a wild and whimsical world where up is down, this is that and nothing is what it seems. A live band, unique entertainment, fun-filled games and plenty of dancing all await guests seeking an escape into a bright and vivid alternate reality.”

The night time dance parties started the summer of 2010 with “Glow Fest” which was designed to run opposite of the newly premiered World of Color show. Glow Fest proved to be the sleeper hit of the summer, attracting thousands of guests and selling pricy themed alcoholic drinks. Glow Fest was replaced by the currently running ElecTRONica which was designed to help promote the movie TRON:Legacy.

ElecTRONica

“Throughout the Mad T Party, we will “tip our hats” to the world of Tim Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland” with wild and fabulous imagery and imagination. Familiar faces will be re-imagined in fresh, new ways, all combining to immerse guests in a captivating world that’s filled with exclusive signature foods, beverages and merchandise offerings.”

Both Glow Fest and ElecTRONica made the Hollywood Pictures Backlot their home, brining the quiet corner of the park alive at night, but creating an out of place eyesore during the day. Disney has not actually said where the Mad T Party will be held, but history tells us it will be smack in the middle of 1940’s Hollywoodland with Red Car Trolleys passing by.

Let’s hope that Disney tucks the Mad T Party in indoors, or further back than Glow Fest and ElecTRONica was in an effort to save some of the period specific theming that the new Disney California Adventure is working towards.
