One of the things I love the most of about John Lasseter his is ability to have fun and enjoy the creations that himself, as well as others around him come up with.  John Lasseter is best known for his role at Pixar and Disney Animation, however he is also the Principal Creative Advisor for Walt Disney Imagineering, and heavily involved in the creation of Cars Land at Disney California Adventure Park.
The video below shows Lasseter taking a ride on one of three new attractions for Cars Land, Luigi’s Flying Tires.  Disneyland fans will immediately seem familiar with the attraction as it was inspired not only by the movie Cars, but also by the 1967 Tomorrowland attraction, Flying Saucers.  In this case, the “tires” float on a cushion of air, similar to a giant air hockey table.  The guests will be able to control the direction of the tires by leaning to the side or using a lever to spin!

John Lasseter seems truly excited about the attraction, and as you’ll see, it looks like a blast…of air!

Cars Land opens at Disney California Adventure Park at the Disneyland Resort in the summer of 2012.  Visit our Weekly Photo Reports to see the ongoing construction!
