When Buena Vista Street opens next year at Disney California Adventure Park, it will be like stepping back in time to 1920’s Los Angeles. This time period was selected to represent the decade that Walt Disney first arrived in Los Angeles to begin his career as an animator. The area will greet guests as they enter the newly expanded and re-immagineered theme park, and will set the stage for the new Disney California Adventure.
Guests will be able ride the Red Car Trolley up Buena Vista Street to the new icon of the park, Carthay Circle Theatre — a recreation of the original theater where “Snow White and Seven Dwarfs” premiered in 1937. Guests will also be able to experience the park’s charming period architecture, mix of stores, eateries and guest services — it will be a whole new entry way into the park that immerses guests into the experience. It will be an amazing area, that a Disney park deserves! As part of the announcements at the D23 Expo, Disney released a virtual fly though of the area. Buena Vista Street is already under construction, as seen in last week’s News and Photo Update, and will be completely blocked off staring next week.
The expansion and construction is part of the 1 billion dollar makeover of Disney California Adventure.
