Tomorrow is Disneyland’s 56th birthday. On July 17, 1955 Walt Disney dedicated Disneyland to all of us and I’m excited to see how much the park, and now the resort, has grown in this past year. Most of the growth has been across the esplanade for California Adventure’s Extreme Makeover but Disneyland did see an e-ticket launch this year; the remake of Star Tours – The Adventures Continue.
If your plans include heading out to Disneyland tomorrow, there will be only a ‘modest’ celebration for the occasion.
…A celebratory moment will be held at 2:30 p.m. to commemorate the 56th anniversary of opening day. An audio recording of Walt Disney’s original dedication speech will be heard throughout Disneyland park. Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and a cast of characters will gather in Town Square to sing “Happy Birthday” to Disneyland with guests and cast members.

The day will prove to be subtle, especially when compared to the 50th anniversary event. Tomorrow’s celebration will most likely be a surprise to the majority of the park’s visitors and I am looking forward to the event and will personally be in Town Square to wish Disneyland a Happy Birthday!
Will you be there too?
